Week 8 weigh in: Just the chart


I'm going to apologize for 2 things this week.

1. This is late as hell.  Sorry about that.
2. This is only a chart to show what happened this week.

Consider this a respite from my self indulgent prose.  I'll be back next week with more witty banter.

Week 7 weigh in: Well...that was short lived


After dominating the weigh in last week, Matt was feeling pretty good.  Clothes were fitting better and shopping didn't even seem like an awful experience.  Things were great.  Maybe a little too great.  Sometimes people aren't ready to carry the load of a competition, and sadly, this was the case for Matt.

Shawn has been leading this thing for the gross majority of our time here.  She showed us why this week.  Shawn's weigh in last week was great, but it was overshadowed by Matt's big loss.  Being a pro, Shawn just kept on truckin' and here she is again with a strong performance.  That is what it will take to win this thing and Matt needs to figure out how to find the consistency that Shawn is displaying week in and week out.

It is going to take a lot more from Matt to take this thing away from Shawn.  We have a long ways to go, and it looks like we'll be going down to the wire at the end.

I forgot to post the weigh in pics last week...no explanation, just forgot...I won't let that happen this week.

Week 6 weigh in: The battle truly begins


Well, I don't want to ruin the surprise, but, someone's winning....and it's not Shawn!  That is right, ladies and gentlemen, we have our first lead change in this race to skinny land.

HOW DID IT HAPPEN?

I'm glad you asked.  I only saw Shawn one day this week and we had dinner with my wife and a friend.  It was a delicious dinner at Grille One Sixteen.  We are pretty fancy.  As best as I can tell, the difference happened during this meal.  Actually, the difference took place before that...it took place at the time of our orders.  Let me take you there:

Shawn:  "I'll have the Seared Tuna Thai Salad."

Waiter: "And you sir?"

Matt:  "I'll have the Seared Tuna Thai Salad, but, please kind sir, may I have my dressing on the side?"

BAM!

That is the answer ladies and gentlemen, it all came down to a moment.  Our Hero, well, my wife's Hero...well...I got my stinking dressing on the side!

I know what you are all thinking...this guy really has some outstanding manners.

Week 5 weigh in: Treading Water or The Peyton Manning watch begins


We had a large challenge this week.  Both Shawn and I attended the same Super Bowl party on Sunday evening.  As, usual, it was a great time, with great people, and great food.  Sadly, our heroes were too focused on their goals to partake in many of the Super Bowl treats, but there was a nice veggie tray thanks to Shawn.  I brought a giant platter of Brown Sugar Smokies (aka Crack).  It was a dirty trick, but Shawn didn't take the bait.

Now that the Super Bowl has come and gone, the real grind of this competition will set in.  Now there should be no excuses.  Time to buckle down and shed some lbs.

On a side note, I'd like to announce a bit of an upset.  Morning Coffee has finally overtaken Michelob Ultra as my most consumed item during this contest...this is either awesome or terrible depending on how you look at it.

On to the yawn...err....results!
